Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi and National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN) organized Two Weeks Faculty Entrepreneurship Development Programme (FEDP) from 3rd Dec to 15th Dec 2018, under the aegis of The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India with associations IEEE Delhi Section, IETE, New Delhi, CSI Div – II, IV & Delhi Chapter, ISTE Delhi Section and Safa Society at BVICAM, New Delhi.
The objective of this FDP was to train as many professionals as possible to act as the resource persons for promoting Entrepreneurship among the students. To meet this objective, National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN), New Delhi & Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi drew experienced resource experts from Government, Industry & Academia to share their expert views and motivate the faculty to face the multi-challenge global competitive Indian environment. There were technical sessions on various topics, by experts from Academia and Industry, followed by one day Industrial visit and interaction with successful Entrepreneur Mr. S.K. Aggarwal.
FEDP begun with the Inauguration session hosted by BVICAM in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN), New Delhi, Guest of Honor Dr. MN Hoda, Director, BVICAM and Prof Dr. PKGupta Secretary General, NAFEN. First session of the FEDP was on Evolution of Management and introduction to Entrepreneurship by Adv. Mukesh Kumar Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India. Second day of FEDP covered two important themes of Management- Management By Objectives (MBO) and Time Management by Ms. Manisha Gill Consultant Psychologist. On the third day, participants attended sessions on Communication skills and Stress Management by Prof. P. N. Kathuria Former AGM, Bokaro; followed by Management of Change and Personality deveploment by Ms. Manisha Gill on fourth day. On Fifth day of FEDP participants were taken to an Industry visit to M/s Milestones Switchgears Pvt. Ltd Gurugram, Haryana, where participants had an interaction with Mr. S.K. Aggarwal, Entrepreneur and discussed a lot about the key skills required to become a successful Entrepreneur. Sixth day of FEDP had sessions on Motivation and Group Dynamics by Prof. P. N. Kathuria Former AGM, Bokaro. Same speaker continued further sessions on seventh day on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Problem Solving & Decision Making. Eighth day of FDP witnesses sessions on Leadership Qualities and HR Strategies for New Entrepreneurs by Mr. Praveen Rajpal Former Country Manager, Tadiran Telecom (TTL) LP; followed by next day session on Marketing strategies and Negotiation Skills by same resource person. Tenth day participants were introduced with Entrepreneurship and Capital Market by Prof. Shipra Agarwal Senior Faculty, FM. Second last day of FEDP was based on very interesting and conceptual topic – Sources of Funding for setting up new Enterprises and Working capital Management for successful Entrepreneurs.
On last day of the FEDP, valedictory session was conductor. All the participants were requested to share their experiences they gained during two weeks of FDP through their SWOT presentations. Faculties from various premier institutes like ARSD College, Hansraj College, JSSATE, DDU college, BVIMR, BVCOE, New Delhi, GEC Raipur, BTKIT Dwarhat, Amity university etc attended the FEDP. Prof P K Gupta and Prof M N Hoda distributed certificates to the participants. At the end of the session, Prof M N Hoda expressed his words of wisdom and presented a memento to Prof P K Gupta as a token of thanks and appreciation.
