IEEE 40th Anniversary Closing Ceremony
IEEE Delhi Section celebrated the Closing Ceremony of its 40th Anniversary, in association with Computer Society of India (CSI), Region – I & Division – I, IETE Delhi Centre and ISTE Delhi Section, on 14th May, 2016 at Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), A-4, Paschim Vihar, Rohtak Road, New Delhi – 110063. Shri K Ramakrishna, Director, IEEE Region-10 was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Dignitaries of the programme included Prof. Mini S Thomas, Chairperson of IEEE Delhi Section, Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM) and convener of the programme, Prof. A. K. Saini, National Council Member, IETE, Mr. R. K. Vyas , Honorary National Treasurer, CSI, Dr. N. K. Gupta, Chairman, ISTE Delhi Section and Prof. Prerna Gaur, Secretary, IEEE Delhi Section. The event was well attended by over 150 delegates from different Institution and Professional societies. Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM, New Delhi welcomed and appreciated all present for joining to celebrate the Closing Ceremony of 40th Anniversary of IEEE Delhi Section. Prof. Mini S. Thomas, Chairperson of IEEE Delhi Section, briefed about the various activities carried out by IEEE Delhi Section throughout the year. The programme started with series of innovative activities by Young Professionals followed by a thought provoking Panel Discussion on “Future of Technology-Vision-2020”. Mr. Ibrahim Ahmad, Group Editor, Cyber Media, Gurgaon was the moderator for the Panel Discussion. Mr. Ankush Grover, VP Operations, Innov8 India, Mr. Rakesh Vij, Chief Business Officer, Aricent Technologies and Mr. H.K. Chawla, Deputy General Manager, NRLDC were the resource persons of the panel discussion. They have discussed their views on the growth of technology in coming years. Shri K Ramakrishna, Director, IEEE Region-10 highlighted the recent initiatives undertaken by IEEE and also the opportunities available for the members with the IEEE. He encouraged the members to passionately participate in the initiatives and ensure maximum professional benefits for the society. It was a memorable occasion, while felicitating all the past Section Chairs of IEEE Delhi Section, on whose solid foundation, the IEEE Delhi Section is successfully marching ahead, with flying colours. Prof. Prena Gaur, Secretary, IEEE Delhi Section proposed a formal vote of thanks. Closing ceremony concluded on the series of cultural activities being performed by the students of Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi and participants from Aasha Kiran Home, which is for mentally abled people. It was enthralling to watch the mesmerising performances, one after another, by the mentally abled participants from the Aasha Kiran Home, which also gave us opportunity to get connected with humanitarian technology. The programme was well received by the audience.
