Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, jointly with Computer Society of India (CSI), Division – I and Region – I organized a one day Faculty Development Program on Data Mining and Social Media Analytics - Emerging Trends and Challenges on 21^st December, 2013. 60 faculties from 25 institutions attended this FDP

The inaugural session was commenced by Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM with a welcome note followed by Mr. R. K. Vyas, RVP (Region-1), Computer Society of India. The inaugural address was given by Mr. Prakash Kumar, Microsoft, Delhi.

The session continued with the “Mining Nuggets from Data - Emerging Trends” by Dr. Muhammad Abulaish, Head, Dept. of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Next technical talk on “Data Generation and Pre-processing using Rapid Miner” was conducted by Sajid Y. Bhat, Dept. of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. The third technical session was on “Social Networks Analysis and Mining - Some Applications” by Dr. Muhammad Abulaish, Head, Dept. of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.  Sajid Y. Bhat continued the the next technical session on  “Data Classification and Clustering Using Rapid Miner”. He winded up the FDP with the last technical Session on “Visualization of Data Using Gephi”. The participants enthusiastically and actively participated in it.
