40^th anniversary celebration of IEEE

CSI Student’s Branch - BharatiVidyapeeth Institute of Computer Applications and Management, New Delhi organized an Invited talk by Dr. Kumar Krishen, Fellow, SDPS and Fellow, IETE NASA Johnson Space Centre, 2101 NASA Parkway, USA, on 13^th May 2015, as part of 40^th anniversary Celebrations of IEEE Delhi Section. The event was conducted in associationwith CSI Region I & Division I, IETE Delhi Centre and ISTE Delhi Section. The title of the talk was Technological Needs for Future Human Space Missions.

The event started at 6 pm with the Welcome address by Prof. M.N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM. Prof. Mini S Thomas, Chairman, IEEE Delhi Section briefed the genesis of the event and introduced the speaker with the audience. Dr. Kumar Krishen explored various facts of Milky Way Galaxy along with theoverarching constraints of space systems, in his knowledgeable session. He discussed how the Earth is changing dramatically since its beginning and how the survival of life on Earth is affected by the natural disasters like volcanoes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Tornados, Platelet Motion. He also sensitized the audience with the missions of various nations along with their objectives such as Russian Lunar Mission, China manned moon mission, Moon exploration mission. He also briefed the Japan’s mission to plan base station on moon by sending humanoid robots to the moon by 2020.

The informative session concluded with a conversation with the audience followed by the Inauguration of Collabratec, research collaboration and networking platform of IEEE, by Mr. Daman Dev Sood, IEEE Delhi Section. The event ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. Shiv Kumar, Regional Vice President, Region I, CSI. The enire event was coordinated by Mrs. RitikaWason, Assistant Professor, BVICAM. The faculties of BVICAM, BVCOE and members of CSI, IEEE, ISTE attended the event and at last enjoyed the dinner.
