e-Science and e-Research have tremendous potential in conducting scientific investigations to uncover novel instances of scientific knowledge in the form of facts, laws, theories or models and their explanations. Additionally, the immense computational speed, ever expanding repertoire of computational assets of tools, approaches and strategies have also opened new vistas for scientific enterprise, and have given rise to a number of new paradigms for pursuing scientific investigations and research. Two new paradigms viz. Simulation and (big) Data Analytics—over and above the earlier paradigms of theory and of controlled experiment- have advanced the theoretical and experimental progress in many areas critical to society including the domains of advanced biotechnology (e.g., genomics), energy systems (e.g., fuel cells), nanotechnology (e.g., sensors) and environmental modelling (e.g., weather & climate prediction). These paradigms also offer hope for progress in answering some of the almost perennially unanswered questions regarding fundamental structure of matter, and the origin of the universe etc. This webinar aims to explore the issues in e-Science & e-Research in the current digital age. The Webinar aim to discuss all round perspective of the same.
