Disruptive Technologies is considered as an innovation, a serendipity, or a purely unintended & unconscious striking of an idea to someone, which, when consciously used repeatedly, has the potential of changing course of human life, or life in general. In this sense, disruptive technologies have been conceived or devised since the earliest time of human evolution. In the beginning of third decade of this century, a number of technologies are already in the process of maturing, which have the potential for drastically changing humanity, and even life on earth. These technologies, mostly known as disruptive technologies, include Blockchain, 3D Printing, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), etc. The expected changes to human society are so unpredictable that even the best-known pundits and futurologists tread cautiously to say anything exactly; they have just dubbed it as Humanity 2.0. The essential character of the enfolding technologies taken together is virtualization: replacing current material (hardware) components from almost all human activities by energy (software) ones. Instant universal connectivity of everything (both living and non-living) will be one of its effects. Going to the extreme, services may be available on the basis of mere thought (through cognitive technologies), instead clicking mobile/keyboard button. This webinar aims to explore the all round impact of Disruptive Technologies in our society.
